Form not submitting for last 1 month after wordpress updates

    I tried so many times, the form not working it loading the icon of rolling but not submitting the information.

    Please check and revert me soon. I am waiting your reply.

  • Do you have the WordPress REST API disabled? Many people do for security reasons and it’s caused quite a stir! CF7 sends the submission through the REST API.

    I’m having a similar problem. After update, the plugin stopped working. I get the spinning wheel of progress forever and no info.

    I don’t think I have REST API disabled but am also not able to see it at mysite.com/wp-json/

    So maybe it is?

    Try reverting to 4.7 and see if it works then, 4.7 doesn’t use the API.

    I’m having this problem as well. A user can fill out and submit a form, but it never gets to my inbox. It was working fine on June 20, but nothing has been received since then after several test entries. Only updates to WordPress and CF7 have been done, no other changes.

    @vmtech – have you tried checking either your API is enabled? Have you tried downgrading to 4.7?

    Reverting to 4.7 did work for me, though I know it’s not a perfect solution. I can’t figure out where REST API is turned off but apparently it is.

    @timothy I’m not sure how to do either at this point, but looking.

    To revert to 4.7, go to

    and find “Previous Versions” at the bottom.

    Download 4.7 and upload it to your site’s plugin directory. I kept a backup of the more recent version.

    Reverting to the old version fixed it. Hopefully by the next round of updates, this will be solved. Thanks for the help.

    I am not the plugin author, so I can only suggest fixes that I am aware of. A number of people are suffering from this problem so hopefully the author will submit a new version soon.

    You could also try the below article if the 4.7 downgrade didn’t work for you.

    there was an error message on js console:
    the message is:

    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
    jquery.js

    Contact form and wordpress both are latest version at that moment.

    I get the following error msg in the console when trying to submit a form:

    WordPress 4.7.5 and Contact Form 7 v4.9

    The form has been working just fine but recently stopped to submit the form.
