Recently we noticed that we were getting an error when trying to submit a form.
We set up a v3 recaptcha for the site, several months ago and it was working fine, until recently. We get an error message when trying to submit the form and the form won’t send at all.

After clicking “Send” a message popped up on the bottom “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”

We’ve already tried making new site/secret keys and saving them in the Integration section on the Contact Form 7 plugin, but still got the same issue when we tried to send a test form.

When we inspected the page, in the console we see this error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: wpcf7_recaptcha is not defined
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (d7e95.js:1:57)

We aren’t sure what the issue is.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, Classic Editor, Really Simple SSL, WP Mail SMTP and Yoast SEO, and clearing all cache data.

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

I get why you recommend disabling plugins and switch to the default theme. One thing that puzzles me is the plugin you recommend, reCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7 works on my website and not the built in reCaptcha v3. Can you give me a clue what to look for that would cause this inconsistent behavior?

It seems alot of people are having this issue, mine is similar and the only thing I see being advised is deactivating plugins and switching themes. Is there an actual solution? No one seems to be fixing this problem. ??

I figured out the issue. It was caused by the Flying Scripts by WP Speed Matters plugin. We first deactivated the plugin, tested the form and it was able to send successfully.

We then re-activated it and found a “recaptcha” line in the settings, which prevented the recaptcha from working during a form submission. We removed that “reacptcha” line from the settings, tested the form and it went through successfully.
