Form Maker fails to submit intermittently.

    Hi,
    I am the Secretary of Gateshead Model Flying Club and Website developer.
    The Website has been running for about 3 years and had been running smoothly, until I got tired of seeing the nagging messages ” you need to update WordPress, you need to update Divi Theme your PHP needs to be updated ”
    I eventually updated WordPress to the latest version 5.8, I also updated the Divi Theme to 4.9.10 the latest version, I then updated PHP to ver 7.3 I did not go to the latest as some plugins were incompatible with 7.4
    I have just noticed that Membership Applications were not arriving via Email. After investigating further I discovered that when the form is filled in and submitted it sometimes stays on the Form page, going back to the top of page and deleting some of the field inputs. I have discovered that if you then fill out the missing field inputs and re submit it will sometimes go to the after successful submission page or stay again on the Form page deleting some field inputs, if you repeat filling out the missing input a third time it goes to the message sent page and the message comes through via Email.
    I have added some text above the form advising if the confirmation message does not appear then the form has not been sent and to re submit.
    This is OK as a temporary fix but I would like to know if there is a solution.
    I have reinstalled WordPress, re installed Form Maker plugin, restored backup of Data Base, I have also disabled caching and all other plugins to see if any are causing the problem and ran Health check plugin. all to no effect the problem still persists. Incidentally the Health check reported no critical errors, it recommended deleting unused plugins also updating PHP to the latest version. The frustrating thing is that sometimes the form works OK first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for the detailed report.

    Yes, it took 3 attempts to submit a test form.

    Let’s start by updating the plugin to the latest version, 1.13.60

    Please get back to this thread after the update.

    Hi,
    I did not mention I had previously installed the latest version but reverted
    back to the last version that worked ok in the hope it would solve the peoblem.
    So don’t think it will make any difference.
    I have updated to the latest ver 1.13.60 but it has made no difference, problem
    still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Having the same problem. Not sure what else to do. It should either submit or return a clear error.

    We are facing the same issue. The form does not submit in the first attempt. Issue is intermittent.

    Hello dear users,

    Thanks for your inquiry and sorry for the late response.

    Can you please check are you using Auto-optimize plugin, if yes, can you please disable it and check again?

    If no, then please enter form maker > options > and enable Ajax submit and then check again.

    Hi don’t know if you read previous post but had already tried disabling every plugin previously, I have tried enabling Ajax submit but the problem still exists.
    Any further assistance would be appreciated.
