Form failing ReCaptcha

    I have a Constant Contact form in the footer and in a popup window on the home page (shows up in 15-20 seconds), using the shortcode from the plugin. I am getting a failed ReCaptcha message after the form is submitted. The ReCapcha checkbox does not show in the form on the frontend. I contacted Tier 2 support at Constant Contact and was instructed to upgrade the ReCaptcha version from v2 to v3. It worked for a while but now is intermittent for users. The popup form seems to work mostly without checking the ReCaptcha box, but the footer version fails. Tier 2 support suggested I contact the plug developers. I would appreciate your help.

    Hi,

    Not seeing any form in the footer, but that may be something that got removed since you started the forum thread here.

    In terms of the modal popup, I checked out the markup and it was showing as having no reCAPTCHA set for it, did you remove that part as well at the moment?

    Hi,

    Tier 2 support said to remove ReCaptcha keys for now (not godd in hindsight since you are looking at it). The footer was deleted by mistake. I am restoring the site to yesterday’s files and database. I will respond when that is completed and if I am still having the same Recaptcha error. Thank you.

    I have restored the footer form, reactivated the Recaptcha, V3 in the Constant Contact plugin setting. The Recaptcha check box is still not showing in the front end forms (Popup or footer). I submitted a form test. The Popup version showed success. The footer form showed failed Recaptcha. NEITHER new contact made it to the Constant Contact account list. Let me know what else you need.

    Confirmed seeing both.

    Since you’re using “version3” for the reCAPTCHA, it doesn’t show a checkbox, as it’s their “invisible” version aka all behind the scenes. Version 2 has that “i am human” checkbox.

    Can you visit the admin settings page for Constant Contact Forms, click the support tab, and enable logging? This should enable a hidden page that we have to store some error logs, and once that setting is saved, we also start logging more regarding signup requests. We’ll be able to re-try with the footer and should get more information about why the reCAPTCHA is failing, and possibly why the requests are failing as a whole.

    Once you let me know that setting is checked and saved, I can re-try with both forms.

    I have enabled the logging on the support tab.

    I wasn’t aware that the V3 didn’t have a “i am human” checkbox.

    If anything got logged, it’ll be in that “Debug Logs” menu area. What’s next would be pasting that information to us to review quick.

    It very well could have since it’s mostly around communication between your hosting and our API. Nothing that would have required code changes to get resolved.

    That said, sorry for missing your previous reply, it was unintentional.
