Forfeit Functionality

Is there a simple method to add some “Forfeit” logic where if a team forfeits a game, their opponent gets the win and points without having to add a score.

I (messily) managed to add this functionality by messing around with the core files: adding a column for “Forfeit” and adding some suspect sql queries to get it to work, but I was wondering if there was a cleaner method that doesn’t involve me having to edit the core files.
