Forcing featured image not to be stretched out for header

  • Hi there!

    I am using random header images I have created to appear in my header sitewide, but in my News posts the small featured images I am using to display as thumbnails on my homepage are being stretched out and displayed as headers.

    I have tried your filters and settings with no success. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

    I’m sorry you are having this issue. I looked at your site–looking at the HTML markup and the styles/scripts which are loading (at least on the page you linked and the handful of pages I checked against), you are not using this plugin to display the banner images, so the filters for this plugin won’t affect your output.

    It looks like your theme is based on a StudioPress theme which does add the banner images, and the output on your site matches what I see on the theme demo. You can modify your theme behavior to select the random images instead of the post thumbnail images, which looks to be how the theme selects the image for the banner. In my copy of that theme, the file you’d want to modify is the helpers.php file, which sets the background image for the banner.
