Force username selection but allow also read the chat

    First of all, thank you for such great chat plugin.
    Only thing I can’t find is ability for anonymous to see the chat, but to participate in chat they need to enter username. Is such thing possible?

  • I’ve been trying to do this as well, did you find a way to do it?

    It looks like the only way is to force users to create an account first, but it would be nice to just let them enter a username.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible. I am strongly considering the implementation of such option.

    Thanks, it would be very useful because we find that more people tend to enter the chat if they can see the messages, but would prefer them to have to enter their name rather than the auto generated ones.
