I made some changes to my site’s template files but the sitemap has no idea anything is different because no posts were updated. Is there a way I can forcibly update the sitemap?

I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling the XML sitemap option and saved my changes multiple times but nothing is helping.

    Currently running Yoast SEO 3.0.7.

  • Don’t know if this still works, but what I’ve done for many years is go to the sitemap page and change 1000 to 999 … see if that works ??

Unfortunately, this did not work. Was it instantaneous when you did it in the past or did it take a few hours to update? Regardless, I appreciate your help.

You can also try going to your most recent post and changing the post time by one minute later, assuming you’re not including the timestamp in the permalink. This should force it to refresh.

I guess it also depends on “what you changed” that you’re expecting to see different in the sitemap.
