Every so often I get “Not synced – Syncable” errors on (as it seems) random products.

After I do a manual update of the product (without any actual changes, only edit the product and press the update button) the error / notification is gone.

No clue what is causing it (Woocommerce or database update?), but since a simple product update already helps it seems that forcing a resync solves the issue.

Therefore my question: would it be possible to add a ‘manual resync’ featrure to initiate this step for all products? Or if this is already possible, how can this be initiated?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello @tomvos66

thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.
The cause for this issue, is for us (like for you) a guess what is causing this. The stock updates are usually only successfully synced when it is done via the standard tools. Often when other plugins are involved in stock changes, it could avoid triggering the sync activity.

The error “Not synced – Syncable”, you mentioned, is often caused by tax setting incompatibilities, but these would not randomly appear like you said it did. So I am not sure how this can occur like you mentioned. Maybe a 3rd party plugin affects your tax settings?

The feature you request, we do have this in our backlog, but I am not sure how soon we will get approval from the product owner to develop this. The last releases have been mainly been maintenance and refactoring activities, so I will have to check if I can get anything pushed through. I completely agree that this feature will add much value to the plugin, but so far that has not helped me get approval on this feature addition.

I have linked this thread to the feature request, so that it will be updated when we do get approval for this feature. There is currently not much more we can do for this feature to be added. If you want us to have a look at the original issue, you might want to share your system report and logs, but you might want to do that via a private engagement, that you can open here.

Let me know if there is anything else I can answer or help you with.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

Thanks for your reply and adding this thread to the feature request, hope it would be possible to get it added as it may solve quite some syncing problems quite easy.

As for the reason why it is happening, I am totally in the blind. It seems to have occurred to random products (but I did not pay close enough attention to spot similarities and simply started fixing). Have not installed any new plugins lately, and as far as I can deduce, for sure none should be tampering with tax settings of individual products (but you never know).

Also not sure when it happened, I do not check the sync issues that often. It also did not happen on products on the first page, and there is also not an option to filter or sort on sync status (would also be a valuable addition to the plugin, but if not possible maybe some example code would be helpful so I can add that myself :-)).

That is the reason why I don’t think I can share any valuable log files now. However I will check the status more often and when it happens again try to mach it to the corresponding log.

Hope this thread can be kept open for some time, will get back to you when I have new info (or you when you get confirmation the plugin is getting updated :-).

    Regards,

    Hello @tomvos66

if after some time this thread is closed, you can always open a private thread via these instructions. The private threads might also close after some time, but they can always be reopened (by replying to the thread), so you would never lose any information/history about the issue we are tackling.

I will leave this open for now, but this will most likely be closed after a few weeks.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
