Force Original featured image when featured image is present

Hello,
Is there a way to force the videos original image when a featured image is in use? Due to the setup of my site I have a featured image by default whenever a new page is created, mainly due to users emailing updates this takes the work out of it for them. So for each page the plugin creates that featured image is assigned to it. I would just like to change this so that the video’s original image is displayed. Since my featured image is the same for all pages I have a grid of that image.
