Force mp3 download on apple devices

    I have a number of download links for mp3 files.
    When accessed on my laptop (mac) I am prompted to download files to itunes.
    When accessing on an iphone the download automatically plays on the inbuilt player. Is it possible to force the device to download rather than play?

  • Hey Paul,

    Please note that our plugin forces a download by default if you have placed the file in our secured folder and not set a redirect. However, every device can treat this differently and we do not have much control over it.

    I’m not sure I understand what you mean by ‘secured folder’ ?

    Hey Paul,

    From the secured folder, I meant “dlm_uploads” subfolder within the “wp-content/uploads” folder. I mentioned secured as the files placed inside that folder are not directly accessible.
