As of yesterday, we started getting scattered “forbidden” errors on one of our sites that uses Search WP and Clean Talk. Our developer believes the issue is being caused by the Clean Talk app. I am losing potential customers – possibly two already – who believe that the site “doesn’t work.” Are you aware of this problem, and how do I fix it?

    Hello,

Could you try to set the “Set cookies option” to Off here:

WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Antispam by Cleantalk -> Advanced settings

    Did it help?

So this didn’t work, and we had to disable CleanTalk permanently as it was literally costing us orders and money.

Now I’m having issues with it on a client site, with it blocking the use of a Ninja Forms form with a forbidden message. We’d gotten a message from a CleanTalk rep asking why the site had stopped getting reports of blocked spam from that install. I replied and explained, but no one wrote me back.

Your plugin has worked so well for so long, but lately it has caused not one but two separate disruptions in sites I manage. What’s going on over there? And how can I be sure it won’t cause more trouble if we reactivate it?

I haven’t tried it on the Paranormal Romance Guild site… I will give it a go there.

I did leave it disabled on Gay Realty Network – it was interfering with our search plugin there – SearchWP – disabling the sidebar search and causing the main search to come up with forbidden errors.

    Ideas?
