Forbidden 403

    I cannot access to my website or even wp-admin, it says

    Forbidden

    You don’t have permission to access /index.php on this server.

    I don’t know what happened, I didn’t change or update anything lately. Please help. Thank you.

    Hello jjw3009, there can be multiple reasons for this error.

    Possible solutions:
    – problems with .htaccess (make a backup of it and remove it, if it solves the problem, you have found your problem)
    – problems with security plugins (try to deactivate the plugins one by one trough ftp/phpmyadmin)
    – incorrect file permissions (most of the times the hosting can help you with this option)

    Hello M,

    I went to cpanel, try to find .htaccess in wp-admin section but there is no such file in it. Where .htaccess located actually?

    The funny thing is, when I search for .htaccess, it says it is located in /public_html/.htaccess but when I go to that particular folder and look for the file, the file isn’t there. I cannot see any file by the name of .htaccess
