• We are using the www.remarpro.com hosted Meta site for WordCamp.org to host our WordCamp web site, https://portland.wordcamp.org/2015/.

A question came up from one of our editors — does this Meta/WordCamp.org site do auto-back-ups of the site & MySQL db, or do we need to set-up our own back-ups with VaultPress or something similar? please advise. thank you!

    best,

It’s not possible to set up your own backups on the WordCamp sites, as you can’t install plugins, but can still generate Export files.

Beyond that, they do keep backups of the whole system, so they can restore if disaster strikes, but not for something that could be easily covered by restoring a revision or re-uploading a photo.

Also, did you know you have a direct line to WordCamp Central? Give https://plan.wordcamp.org/forums/ a try next time. ??
