Hi all. This is an amazing plugin. Having some problems with setting a gallery to start with a specific video in the middle of a public youtube playlist.

I’m working on a barebone “_underscore” website that I’m building: visit the page here

In this page I tried to load the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1xZjj-w2VE&index=2&list=PLcJWat_945mYWurfhYGiUGTgNhDCUs5Ga

This link is pointing to the second video on that public playlist.

When using the Visual Wizard the embed reads like:
    [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/embed?listType=playlist&list=PLcJWat_945mYWurfhYGiUGTgNhDCUs5Ga&v=W1xZjj-w2VE&layout=gallery[/embedyt]

And although the “&v=W1xZjj-w2VE” is the ID for the desired second video, the resulting gallery actually starts with the first video (“v=IfJ0OQrgSA0″) of the playlist (list=PLcJWat_945mYWurfhYGiUGTgNhDCUs5Ga”) instead of the desired second one.

I have the “Playlist Ordering” option unchecked. Actually here you can see my plugin settings.

By the way, the page does not run the video because of the “debug mode”. Once that option is de-activated the video player runs fine, although the first video instead of the second one.

Could we have an idea of what is happening?

  • Plugin Author embedplus

For playlist galleries, the YouTube API sends us playlist videos in a specific order that is defined by the order videos the playlists have on YouTube.com. For channel galleries, the results are sorted by upload date. There are no parameters offered by the API to change this.

Therefore, to create a gallery of a specific order, go to your account on YouTube.com and create a playlist of your desired order by adding the videos to it appropriately.
Once you’ve created this playlist there, you can embed it as a gallery with our plugin.

Note that when we use the term “self-contained” is not with “gallery”, it’s always with the standalone playlist player — i.e. the the kind that YouTube generates (without thumbnails). Shown in this snippet: https://youtu.be/_9D4yMyd40g?t=1m7s

With this particular player, the YouTube API allows specifying of the starting video, but that’s not what you’re trying to embed.

I’m trying to embed a YouTube playlist with EmbedPlus and I keep getting the following error message – ‘Sorry, that does not seem to be a link to an existing playlist. Please confirm that the link works in your browser, and then copy that full link in your address bar to paste here.’

I’ve tried a range a different URL options e.g. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJliX5_ZcEuI6oRDyk-olXRfz7JWsZ179 but it will not load.

    What am I doing wrong?
