“For development purposes only” message being displayed

    Hello. I had a developer create our site for us and they had installed this plugin to create our retail locations page.

    It was working perfectly, but suddenly now the map is displaying “For development purposes only”. Is this problem from Google’s side?

    As you suspected, it is due to the new terms of use of the Google Maps API.
    These have been revised recently.

    You need to link a creditcard and eventually enable some packages of the Maps API in the Google Cloud Console.

    You do indeed need to set up billing on your Google API project in order to use the API, following their policy changes earlier this year.

    With that said, you can set your account limits up so that you don’t exceed their $200.00 monthly free allowance, if you so wish.
