For anyone else who needs their favicon to show in Bing search results, and I can’t imagine who wouldn’t, a temporary workaround is to create a separate sitemap file with the location of your favicons and submit that to Bing/Microsoft Webmaster Tools.

    Hello @thememee,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Only images attached to a content type are included in the sitemap. Since your favicon is not connected to any content type, you cannot add it to the sitemap.

And it isn’t necessary to include the favicon in the sitemap to get it in Bing Search. Many websites that don’t have it in the sitemap still have the favicon in the SERPs. Please make sure to follow all other requirements and wait for Bing to decide to show it in the SERPs.

You can check this thread for more details: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-bing/the-site-s-favicon-is-not-displayed-in-bing-search-results/m-p/3880129

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
