  • Hi

I use this plugin a lot and have occasionally seen the behaviour you are experiencing. Quite often it is because there’s no space before (( as is the case with the first failed footnote I see on your page:

the days were accomplished that she should be delivered” </em>((Luke 2:6, KJV)) That’s all we know.

There’s no space between the end of the em tag and the footnote.

Similar problems sometimes happen where a footnote is spanned by an HTML tag like em, strong etc. Close those tags before the footnote, leave a space before (( and then restart the tag after the footnote.

Once or twice I have had to add an additional space to make this work and rarely I have given up and placed the footnote at another point in the text as a workaround.

    Hope this helps.
