[footnotes] for custom placement no longer working

    Just noticed that using [footnotes] shortcode for custom placement is no longer working.

    I want to have footnotes appear where I specify on the page, not at the very bottom. I previously used the [footnotes] shortcode. Now it’s no longer working as a shortcode (just appearing as plaintext) and the footnotes are appearing only at the bottom of the page.

    I don’t recall this ever being a feature of a released version of this plugin. I have a feeling you may have been using a modified version of the plugin made by huyz.

    A similar shortcode functionality has now been incorporated into the official development version, but has not yet been tested and released. This should happen soon, but feel free to download and use the dev version at GitHub until then.
