Footer Widget Error: destructure property ‘block’ of ‘l[e]’ as it is unde

When adding a column in Widget>Footer 1, I get the following error:

There was an error. Cannot destructure property ‘block’ of ‘l[e]’ as it is undefined

Here is what happened:

1. I uploaded a logo onto a single column in Footer 1 widget.
2. I decided I wanted 2 columns instead, and added 2. Added text in the second column.
3. Error.
4. Once the error appeared the first time – I deleted everything in Footer 1 – columns, logo and text.
5. The widget saved, but it won’t show the empty footer 1 after “successfully” saving; instead, it displays the elements that were in the footer in step 1.
