Hello, I am creating a website with a template Custom Printing,
    free ASTRA theme.
The footer in the template cannot be edited or deleted.
When adding a new footer it is displayed below.
Widgets in the widget area 1 2 3 4 are missing.
How to remove footer in a template or make it editable?

    Yeah @brainstormteam

I already did exactly all what you mentioned here…

    Yet, I don’t know what’s wrong.

I think the issue is common with the new free Astra starter demo sites recently published, because I got the same case for two different websites I’m currently editing.

You might want to check from your end too, or you can request that I send you screenshots or URLs to see for yourself.

    Regards.

    Hi @thegeneralissimomedia,

You were right, this is happening on some of our Starter Templates. I have reported this to our concerned team and they will check it and fix the issue soon. I am sorry for the inconvenience you may have because of this.

As a workaround?, you can manually add the Icon List widget and style it like the one you got from the Starter Template. It works for me and shall work for you too.

    ?I hope that will help.

    ??Kind regards,
    ?Herman ??

    Thanks for the acknowledgement, @brainstormteam

I hope that gets rectified soon.

I tried using the Icon List widget to manually design it, but the outcome isn’t as beautiful and appealing as the default Astra footer widget.

I had to go back to use the Astra footer widget with that minor deficiency, but for its beauty and visual appeals.

I hope that minor error is rectified soon.

    Thanks for your responses.

    Regards.

    Hi @brainstormteam

I was having the same issue with the footer widgets and I found out that it’s the ad blocker that is giving a display none to the class .footer-adv.

Hope you guys can solve this in a near future.

    Best regards
    Macosi

    Hi @macosi,

?What was your issue actually? Was it the default Astra Footer section or Footer section created using the Header Footer Elementor plugin?

?Could you please let us know more details about your issue? And also regarding the ad blocker ?part you mentioned. I am not sure if I understand it correctly.

    ??Kind regards,
    ?Herman ??

    Hi @brainstormteam,

So, I was simply using the customizer to add some widgets to the footer (aka footer widget area) and they simple don’t appeared.

I digged out whith chrome dev tools and have see that the adblocker extension I’m using, is hidding the footer widget area, cause it have a .footer-adv class. (.footer-adv{ display:none;})

I was not using the Header Footer Elementor plugin.

    Best regards
    Macosi

    really helpful. thank you!

    Hi,
I had a similar problem, I’m doing a site for a person who doesn’t want any social icon links on the site, when I viewed the site in Firefox, there was no Social Icons in the Footer but when I viewed in Chrome there were three Social Icons appearing in footer.

After hours of searching around I stumbled on the solution. I saw someone mention Ad Blocking software.

Basically what happened was my Adblocker (Adblock Plus) was blocking the icons in Firefox not only that but in the editor window in Elementor too. it didn’t show the icons at all.
Once I unblocked Firefox they appeared in Elementor and I was able to remove them.

Hope this might help someone else struggling with this.

    Cheers

i noticed a lot of replies that elementor for this template that template. i am using the eliminator. It seems that free templates are only free without being able to change the footer. So what’s your excuse now Astra. i have noticed that Astra don’t make it easy for you to find the review. probably because they don’t want the one stars popping up for the footer not being able to be edited on free templates.

    Hi @revpaulreed,

I am sorry for my lack, but I am not sure that I understand you correctly.

Are you trying to edit the Footer on Astra? If you are using the old header/footer, you can do it from the Customizer > Footer > Footer Bar. This is the related doc that will let you know more about the Footer Bar. This feature is available even on the Astra free.

However, if you are using the new Header Footer Builder, it would be quite different. Please refer to this doc to know more about that.

And when you said “template“, did you mean the Starter Template?

Please be advised that we also use our Elementor Header Footer plugin to create the Footer section on some of the Starter Templates. So, when you import a Starter Template and the Footer section is created using the mentioned plugin, if you would like to edit it, then you need to go to that template and edit it using the Elementor editor. Please refer to this screenshot.

I hope it will answer your query, otherwise please let me know the thing I am missing.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
