• Hello !

After updating to WP 4.9.3 it is impossible to make any update in Footer.php.
Even more, the text still visible yesterday in Footer.php is not visible anymore today.
And a plugin functional until yesterday stopped working today.

Neither deleting cache nor deactivating all plugins, changing browser etc. fixed this issue.

    The message error is this:
Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

    What should be done ?
    Thank you !

MANUALLY updating. Download WordPress again and unzip it. Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Please read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!
