footer issues on twenty eleven version

Thank you for the fabulous posts, I use them all the time!!

I do have one ongoing issue… I am wanting to install a footer on my site: https://www.meditatelove.com

In an easy fashion such as a plugin that could easily make a footer similar to this one:

alternatively, when I have tried to use an image as a temporary footer I have issues expanding it like te header – I cannot seem to get the footer to expand full width.
Does anyone have a solution?
