    Oliver,
hopefully the last one today ??

In the footer, I was able to disable ‘Proudly powered by WordPress’ message, but how do I go about inserting Copyright message there and a link to sitemap without customising siteinfo.php?

    Regards
    Christopher

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Christopher,

    Haha, hopefully ??

Use the Site Info widget area in Widgets. If you put a Text Widget in there it should do what you want.

    Kind regards,

and I suppose HTML Widget to point to the sitemap, right?

Yes, an HTML Widget if you want to include a link. But you can use whatever widgets you like there.

Actually, a Text widget with links to the pages does the job

Now, I have a problem with old link to ‘legal disclosure’ page which I created initially by hacking into site-info.php.

Since then, I created and deleted the child theme and there was an update to twentyseventeen theme and for sure site-info.php does not contain that code anymore.

The only culprit I can see is your plugin ?? if it keeps on old version of the code somewhere.

I can’t find another reason for this code lingering on…

    Hi,

I’ve had a look at your site. you have a duplicate “site-info” <div>.

Without having access to your site it’s not easy to see why this is happening but it’s highly unlikely to be this plugin.

I know you said the theme has been updated but that’s the most likely source of the issue so please double check that it’s not there.

    Oliver,
well I did double check and the theme was updated on 8th May 17:35 and all files and directories carry the same timestamp. And specifically, the Site-Info.php.
I dumped the database and did not find in there 2 instances of the link to Legal Disclosure document.
If you examine the page, you can see there is an event attached to the link that won’t disappear, the one preceding ‘Proudly powered by WordPress’ text.
Would that have anything to do with the lingering of that link?
I am really at my wits end here ??

Well, let me enlighten you ??
This particular link to Legal Disclosure document would not go away because it was identified by me in the Privacy section of the Settings as GDPR compliance document ( this section was introduced by WordPress 4.9.6 in compliance with GDPR requirements).
So much for spending days looking for it!
Still don’t know where WP stores it, certainly not in site-info.php.
There you are, you owe me ??
