Footer height: widget padding

  • I have built up a site I am overall pleased with, but am having issues with finishing touches concerning the footer and the widget I have placed down there. I am not pleased with the height of the footer (far too large), the inelegant/chunky buttons, or the amount of padding the widget board uses. Ideally these buttons would cover one bar at the bottom of the page (regardless of their number), without excess spacing around them above and below.

    I am at my wits end with attempting to adjust the footer height and widget padding. I have found several snippets of css from around the web for .org to customize with and they are not doing anything to the footer. Can anyone help me with this?

.site-footer .widget .wp-block-columns{margin:0;}
.site-footer .widget .wp-block-button .wp-block-button__link{margin:10px 0;}
