Footer Getting rid of Copyright and WordPress Text

  • I want to get rid of the following footer text:

    | Powered by WordPress | Theme by PremiumWP

    As this theme is free, I guess it doesn’t want me to do it. I’ve tried several things- add CSS in Customizer (nothing), trying to change it with editor (couldn’t get there with a child theme), and finally using the change footer plugin (didn’t work). Do I just have to learn to live with it?
