• Hi

I’ve recently moved over from NextGen to Foo Gallery. I have a gallery of corporate portraits/head shots. In the thumbnails the alignment is such that the heads are cut off. How do I edit the thumbnails so I can position the image to display correctly. I can do this is NextGen by editing the thumbnail.

    Many thanks

    Stephen

    Hi Stephen,

What size are your thumbs? The default 150×150? And do you have a URL I can check out?

    Hi Brad

Thanks for answering. Thumbnails are 150×150.

    hey Stephen,

OK cool I was hoping you were using the default 150×150.

To edit your thumbs, follow this tutorial which should help:

Great, thank you Brad. I did an extensive search for without success this before posting on the forum.

I see you are based in SA. Is Foo Gallery a SA born plugin?

    Thanks again

yes, I am based in SA, and FooGallery was indeed “born” in SA too ??

That’s awesome – Proudly South African.

I have another question and am just going through all the posts on the forum.

Same link – when I click X to close the gallery the first image remains open. How do I stop this?

    I guess I should post this in a new thread…. :-/

    Hey

It seems your theme has a built-in lightbox which is causing 2 lightboxes to show. You have 3 choices:

    1) Deactivate our FooBox lightbox, and fall back to the theme’s lightbox ??

    2) Disable the lightbox built into the theme (sometimes this is impossible to do without making coding changes to the theme). Ideally, the theme should have an option to disable the lightbox, but that is not always possible.

    3) Use our FooBox PRO, which has an option to disable other lightboxes, which works in most scenarios, and if not, there is a setting to add some custom JS code to disable the lightbox

    Ah, ok.

I still have NextGEN active on my site. Could that be causing the problem?

    I’m sorted. Thank You!

    Hi Brad

Does the quality of the thumbnails change with that resizing that I did? Have a look at the link and let me know if you find the thunbnails fuzzy? I think they are.

    Thanks

    Hi Brad

I have read through the forum and noted about changing my image quality to 80 or 90. It was on 80. I changed to 90 and then also to 100 without seeing any change in quality of the thumbs. I also notice that in the backend my thumbs are stretched although they appear fin in live. Not sure if the stretching and the quality is linked?

    Help!

    Thanks

    Stephen

Hi I have this problem as well. Please checkout
    https://www.ranwei.net/portfolio/gallery/commercial/

You’ll see some pictures with the heads cut off.

I don’t use the 150×150 forced. I have tried that and it makes all the thumbnails blurry like its trying to resize them to larger from 150×150.

    Please help.
