Fonts not updating across posts when changing them in the theme panel

I recently updated the default paragraph font for my website using the setting in the Newspaper Theme Panel -> Theme Fonts -> General -> Body – General Font (My New Font Name)

Then I clicked the Save Settings button and noted that none of my existing published posts reflected the changes. Is this update supposed to propagate through all posts or do I need to manually open and republish each one?

In case it was an interference issue, I disabled my site’s CDN, Cache, and minification settings but this did not seem to help. If this behavior is by design, are there any good plugins out there to bulk update published posts?
