Last night, I activated All-in-One WP Security and enabled all basic options, plus one or two intermediate options. Everything seemed fine at that time, but after checking my site this morning, I noticed that the fonts reverted to Times New Roman instead of Raleway on both mobile and desktop browsers. (Raleway is set via Fonts Plugin Pro.)

As I am a beginner with respect to self-hosting, I’m wondering if some of the WP Security options are conflicting with the Fonts Plugin, or if this is an issue with my .htaccess files. Please help! Thanks.

Does this only happen when you have AIOWPS activated or does the issue persist when AIOWPS is deactivated?
Your site is showing 404 errors when loading woff2 files so something may be blocking them. Who is your hosting with? For example Azure and Google are popular for self hosting.

    Good evening vupdraft:

Deactivating the plugin does not resolve the issue. I’ve been unable to detect the root cause of the 404s you mentioned, though I can see them through the Redirection plug-in.

For my web hosting, I use DreamHost (I have a DreamPress plan). I tried various settings on the staging site both with and without AIOWPS activated, and with and without some changes to my htaccess files that predated my installation of AIOWPS, to no avail.

If worst comes to worst, I might have to restore from an earlier backup, but that would also undo other updates I’d prefer not to lose.

(EDIT: Looks like my font is back. AIOWPS is active, so I think it was something in my htaccess files causing those 404s – though I wish I knew what! Before I close this issue, are you still seeing those 404s?)

It was in the JS console. However, I just had a look and they are no longer there.

    To check for yourself:
    In chrome goto View>>Developer>>JavaScript Console

Just in case it is helpful; If you think a problem is related to your .htaccess, rather than restoring you can regenerate your .htaccess by renaming your old .htaccess and resetting your permalinks. Resetting the permalinks will generate a fresh .htaccess Please see here for a guide: https://thoomzechdesigns.com/how-to-regenerate-your-htaccess-file-in-wordpress/

I checked the console and my site looks normal again. Thanks for your help and for that link.
