Fonts not detected

Are they added by a theme? If so, which theme?

I think they are added by the theme. The theme was bespoke but I think it’s based on Twenty Seventeen.

I see you’re using Playfair Display and Questrial. Which of the two is it detecting?

It was neither of them. It was another font but I can’t remember which one it was. I have tried to auto detect again but no fonts come up now.

That’s strange. When I open the URL you provided, these are the two fonts listed as ‘Used fonts’. You can see for yourself following this tutorial.

Yes I have already tried that and agree with what you are saying. Is there anything I can do about the problem of OMGF not recognizing the fonts?

It’s hard for me to make a guess here, since I don’t know which theme you’re using. Your theme must be loading the Google Fonts in an unconventional way. And to see if there’s anything I can do about it, I’d have to see the code loading the fonts.

Could you provide the steps for me to reproduce this error?

@daanvandenbergh I have tried adding my fonts in the search box with some success. Checking gtmetrix waterfall it’s showing fonts loading from my site not google but it seems to be loading a lot more than it was before and not saving any load time. Questrial font does not work though for some reason.

Ok, that’s progress!

You can modify the list yourself. So if it’s loading more than before, simply remove the fonts you don’t need from OMGF’s settings screen!

I have a feeling that my error was related to selecting and unselecting fonts.

As for Questrial, it’s working for me (see here.

@mikes46 Step through the process and look at your browser console, error_log and wp-admin/error_log as you do. It’s the only way to catch this.
