• Hi,
I notice a reduction in the quality of a font when I enable the plugin.

I realize that this is vague but i am not sure which terms to use to describe it.

Something like font smoothing is reduced when I enable the plugin.

    Please help.

    Hey,

That’s very odd since the plugin does no modification to the original font files. Can you share the following info:

    – Name of the fonts used and any special language subset.
    – The specific font weights you’re seeing the issues at.
    – If possible, the site where the problem can be seen.

The Google font Character Subset is Latin.

I don’t have permission from the client to post the site URL here but I could email it to you if you like….

PS, I switched to Open Sans font and the font does not seem “rough” but the font size is slightly different if the plugin is deactivated.

In this case I am using the child Make theme.

    https://thethemefoundry.com/docs/make-docs/code/installing-child-theme/

If you would like to try to reproduce.

It has built in Google fonts and I wonder if if it applies some additional styling to fonts that it cannot do if fonts are hosted locally.

@wpfan1000, @asadkn – did you guys find a solution to this? I’m having the same issue: all the fonts load locally now (thank you!), but the quality is visibly lower than before (like blurred and ‘slightly melted.’)

My fonts are just ‘roboto condensed’ and ‘handlee’, latin. Nothing extravagant. The issue happens at any font-weight (300, 400, or 700.)

If it helps, I used ThriveArchitect (a content builder) to build all my pages.

    Unfortunately I haven’t found a solution to this ??
