Fonts: use Font Awesome vs. Fork Awesome?

FoRK Awesome is used because of numerous conflicts with plugins and themes that use Font Awesome. There are different FA versions, stylesheet handles and even custom styles added by third-party developers, which is a real pain.

I switched to FoRK Awesome a couple of versions ago and do not plan to switch back.

Unfortunately, there is no option to use Font Awesome with SU anymore since the new CSS class names (.sui.sui-icon instead of .fa.fa-icon) are hardcoded.

I am also facing the same problem. It takes 1.5 sec according to GT Metrix. Is there any way to remove it without affecting anything?

I will add a way to use ANY icon font in the plugin, but now I’m really loaded with other requests/features, so I will do that in the future.

How long will it take? Sorry to say, but I don’t know, maybe a couple of months, maybe even longer.

You’ll be able to set a custom icon prefix, filter/modify the list of available icons as well as load any stylesheet with icon definitions.

And of course, I’ll create an article with multiple examples of how to do that.

I have tried preloading the Fork Awesome with Autoptimize plugin. From GTMetrix result the Fork Awesome is preloaded indeed, but the SU plugin again takes several hundred seconds to load that woff again.

I am looking forward to your guidance to reduce the renderblocking issue, really causing a lot pain in pagespeed. Thanks in advance.

Google Speed Test gives a bad rating when loading fork-awesome. Call for improvement. Thanks for the great plugin.
