Fontawesome icons – Needing newer ones

  • Hey
    Do you plan on updating the “Font-awesome”? Needing some of the newer icons for the social icons bit. Or is there a way to add some specific icons?

    If not is there any chance you can explain how to add custom HTML inside the div with the class “customify-builder-social-icons” (at the end). Tried with JS/jQuery with no success.

    Would prefer it inside that div in order to keep the responsive part of the page. Got HTML that can resolve the issue, just unable to figure out where to add it.
    One icon I’d like to add is Discord, figured it’d be the best place to put it. Just in case you have an example.

    Other than that, rest of it seems super simple and it’s real easy to work with.

  • Not my theme.. just browsing the forums while bored!

    If you create a childtheme you could find the file where the original code is copy that file, and add in the line for discord.

    You could then also change what icons are used for the social icon area

    Was having a hard time locating that bit.
    I know where I can find the 700 ish icons in the customizer.

    That along with I’d like to get updates for the theme without having to mess with the files every release.

    Currently, we still keep the FA 4.7 and don’t update the FA 5.0 yet. You can use the child theme to include the FA 5 as want.

    But I don’t understand what you mean “add custom HTML inside the div with the class “customify-builder-social-icons” (at the end).”?

    Alright. Not sure how to upgrade to the FA5 as you mention. Can see the FA is in several files, one of them where each icon is listed with a number.

    The custom HTML was as a temporary workaround until the FA was updated. As I have the most recent FA installed via a plugin, I can use the icons from that.
