• Hello,

I apologize if this has been asked already but after looking around I couldn’t find it anywhere.

I am using the Montezuma theme 1.2.4 and word press 4.0.1. I updated recently because I went to my website (polestartech.com) and noticed that the size of the menu had increased, as well as the font on the sidebar like it looks now.

I don’t visit it often, so I am not sure what happened, but if anyone could help me make the site look like in the image linked below it would be very appreciated! Or at least point me in the direction.

    Thanks!
    Nick

  • Did you fix it? I don’t see any difference in font size or appearance between your current site and the image that you linked to.

No. It still appears that way on a couple of machines here.

I am using IE 11.0.9600 and Chrome 39.0.2171.71 and they both look the same.

    What browser were you using?

    Thanks,

    Nick

I’m using Chrome 39.0.2171.71 as well, and it also looks the same in Firefox.

Here’s what I see in Chrome.

Maybe your systems don’t have access to Google Fonts for some reason? If you click on this link, do you see a stylesheet that lists different font faces?

Hmm thank you for looking. It appears that everyone else see the site the correct way. When I click that link for the style sheets I see this page

Strange that you’re the only one who doesn’t see the correct font. If you look at my Montezuma test site, do you see the same fonts in my menu as you currently do for your site? They should be the same.

You can try doing this: go to Appearance > Montezuma Options > Head > Insert code and copy & paste this into the Top field:

    <link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Yanone+Kaffeesatz:400,200' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

When I go to your test site I see this

Thanks, I inserted the code but it doesn’t change anything.

I am beginning to feel that it doesn’t have to do much with the theme now.

    ??

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s also not the theme, because your screen shot of my site looks like it’s using the standard sans-serif font instead of the Google Yanone Kaffeesatz font.

Open your site in Chrome, then press Ctrl-Shift-I to open the Dev Tools window. Click on Console from the menu and see if there’s a warning in red that says something like unable to load the Google api because it violates some sort of cross-resource policy. I’ve seen that before, where the security policy for the browser doesn’t allow a resource from a different domain to be loaded.

Thanks for the tip within Chrome, I see these errors.

    Hello,

I wanted to update this issue with the resolution.

I ended up adding and exception in our firewall proxy for fonts.gstatic.com.

It appears that was the issue all along.

    Thanks for you help!

    Nick

Great, I’m glad you found a solution, I’ll have to file away the information. I’m coming across more & more people with that problem.
