Hi. I used your plugin to install the Buffalo font. I used it in 1 Header element on the Cover block.

All plugins are up to date, WordPress is up to date 6.5.2, and I am using the Twenty Twenty Four theme which is at 1.0.

When I update the theme to 1.1, the Buffalo font is no longer assigned to the Cover Header element mentioned above. And the Buffalo font is no longer available on the font dropdown.

In your plugin, I still see the added Buffalo font.

So there is a conflict with the theme update that wipes out the connection between the font your plugin has and the theme itself.

I had not used your Assign Font, in case you were wondering.

I have now restored my site to the theme 1.0 version so the “Connecting Talent To Opportunity” heading displays in the Buffalo font (looks like fancy cursive writing).

    1. Is this a bug in the plugin or the theme?
    2. Is there anything you can do to fix this?
    3. Can a fix be made such that it will not break again in the next theme release?

    Thank you

    Hi,

I will check with latest version of Twenty Twenty Four, try replicating the issue and get back to you.

    Thanks

@dnesscarkey Thank you for your prompt response to my question. I just wanted to let you know that I was able to get the font to work by using WordPress’s recently added native font management, and then the update to theme Twenty Twenty Four version to 1.1 did not cause the font to disappear.

    Hi @flatword,

Got the issue. Our plugin updates the theme.json file of theme to send the fonts to typography selection.
However, when there is update in theme, those information are cleared and needs to be re-written. So deactivate and reactivating our plugin, rewrites it and fixes the issue.

For future release, we will add auto theme.json rewrite after theme has been updated.

    Thanks
