Font, Font size, Font color & Paste don't work

My apologies for posting this in the “Report a bug” but I can’t find the answers!
I had already posted them in the CKEditor WP Forum

First post
When using CKeditor to change the font, text color, etc, the highlighted/selected text loses the highlight when clicking on the appropriate editing color/font/or other icon and so as a result, no change is made to the text.
How can I remedy this and get the editing facility back?
All other plugins have been deactivated.
Am using a theme created with Artisteer
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Second post
Even on the CKEditor demo website, highlighting the text then trying to change its size, color and font does not work! Also paste does not appear to work.
Am I doing something wrong?
