I love your product and I’m very anxious to implement it into my website https://donnaclements.com. So you’ll know, my ultimate objective is to incorporate the EB Garamond font into the headings to match the logo design of my writing business “Word Pearls Press, LLC.” I’ve read through all of the support forum topics, applied what I learned, including successfully incorporating the Google font API key, but thus far, unable to change the font family. The text decoration and text transform work but it is not changing the font family.

    Gratefully,
    Donna

    Hi Donna,
I’ve just visited your website and I can see the font change has taken effect. Could you describe a specific element that you are having an issue with so that I can help you better? Thanks

Yes, actually I delved around the Style.ccs – which as a non-coder was pretty dangerous – but I made a few minor adjustments, and voila, Easy Google Fonts started working! Yeahhhhhhhh! Amazing product! I played around with background color for hours! Love it!!! And your level of service is also amazing! I actually “expected” a reply from you. That is a great feeling!

Could you advise on how to change main headers to EB Garamond?

Again, thank you for creating this. I believe typography is the most fundamental aspect of websites!

    Hi Donna,
You can control the main headers by creating your own custom font control (this feature allows you to modify the typography without touching the style.css file). Here are some instructions for you, just follow it step by step and you should be good:

Instructions on creating the font control

    1. Log in to your WordPress admin area and go to: Settings > Google Fonts
    2. Click create new font control and give your font control a name e.g My Main Headings and click the Create Font Control button. (If no other custom font controls exist then it will take you straight to the add new control screen)
    3. Once you have created your new font control enter the following text in the Add CSS Selectors input box: h1.posttitle a
    4. Click the Save Font Control button
    5. Visit the customizer and you will see your new font control which will allow you to control the heading

The instructions are the same for each font control that you would create. The only difference would be the name of the control and the css selectors that it is controlling. If you don’t have any CSS knowledge any basic developer should be able to give you a hand with it. Let me know how you get on. Thanks for the kind words, glad you find this plugin useful ??

Oh, My Goodness! It worked! The main headings changed to EB Garamond! Wow! I’ve never experienced such hands-on-plugin-development assistance! Is it possible to create a font control for the Category Titles? And if so, what would be the text for the CCS Selectors?

When I started on this project a few days ago, it was because I am in the process of culminating some of my columns into a book and the consistency of font style is very important. I downloaded several different plugins before and after trying Easy Google Fonts but nothing worked. And because yours was the most developed offering the most options, I stayed with it. When I swallowed my pride and contacted you, as I said earlier, I knew you would respond! Thank you again for giving me the ability to express myself through typography!

    Respectfully,
    Donna

    Hi Donna,
It is possible to create a font control for the Category titles. Just follow the steps above and insert h1.catheader into the Add CSS Selectors field. My pleasure Donna, glad I could help. Keep in touch, I’d love to see the end result ??
