    Hello,

I have two problems with the delivery of new posts to my followers.

    1. How do I format the delivered posts? I would like the respective post image to be sent as well.

    2. I have registered myself as a WordPress.com follower and as an email follower with two different email addresses. To the address as WordPress.com-Follower I receive a mail for new posts, so I assume that all other registered followers also receive a mail. However, to the address as an email follower I do not receive a mail on new posts. Where is the error?

I have read through the troubleshooting. I have no mail in my spam folder, the box at Block emails is unchecked and the respective post has been republished, not just updated.

    Greetings from Hamburg

    Thobie

    Hi @thobie!

1.The featured image is no longer displayed in the New Post email notification.

If there’s a need to add an image to the top of the email notification, it can be added to the post body directly – using the Image block.

At present, there isn’t a whole lot more you can do to format the emails that go out to subscribers:

    – In order to only have a short excerpt show in the subscriber emails go to Settings → Reading in your dashboard, and locate the option for “For each article in a feed, show” and make sure that’s set to Summary.

    – With the “Full text” option enabled, your followers will get the full content of your posts.

Note: The steps above will also adjust your site’s RSS feed.

If you prefer, you can split the content of each one of your blog posts into two parts thanks to the More tag. Everything that is above the More tag will appear on your home page and in the subscription emails, followed by a link inviting users to click to continue reading. Everything that is below that tag will only appear on the post’s page.

    2. If you don’t see the subscription confirmation email in your inbox or spam, go to this site:

    https://subscribe.wordpress.com/

Enter your email and click “Request Details”, like so:

After requesting your details, you’ll be sent an email with a link in it. By clicking the link, you’ll be taken to a page where they can manage their subscriptions:

On that page, you should click the Pending link and then the Confirm link for the blog you’d like to follow:

    Hi Bruce,

1: “If you want to include an image at the top of the email notification, you can include it directly in the post text – using the image block.”

Each of my posts has a photo in the first place, before the text begins. However, contrary to your execution above, this is not delivered with the post as mail.

By the way, for the RSS feeds I have the plugin RSS Image Feed (RSS Image Feed is not literally producing a feed of images but it adds the first image of the post to the normal feeds of your blog. Those images display even if you have the summary in the feed and not the content) installed, so that at least for the feeds a photo is delivered with the respective feed. However, this doesn’t seem to work for mail delivery.

2.: “If you don’t find the subscription confirmation email in your inbox or spam folder, visit this website: https://subscribe.wordpress.com”

Clicking on this link takes me to the subscription management page (photo 1). I then click on the link to the WordPress.com reader where my subscribed sites are listed (photo 2). Here, on the one hand, it is listed that I have subscribed to the food blog. And on the other hand, it says in the settings that I receive new posts by mail. However, as already mentioned, this does not apply.

Correction: What I wrote under the second point is correct in itself, because it concerns the followers at WordPress.com. There I am also registered and receive the respective post by mail.

Where the mail delivery does not work are the email subscribers (photo 3), there I am registered with another mail address ([email protected]), but I do not receive mails with posts, so I assume that the other subscribers also do not receive mails with posts.

I had previously implemented the subscriptions and the mail dispatch of the posts to my followers with MailChimp. This I have now ended, imported the mail addresses in JetPack and let the mail dispatch now by JetPack.

Today I also finally got the latest post delivered to my mail address as an email follower through JetPack. Presumably this all needs to settle in a bit, because as I said, I’ve only been letting JetPack do this for a short time. I assume that the other followers have now also received the post by mail.

I will be monitoring this for the next while and unless another issue arises, it seems that the problem has been solved.

Unfortunately, I cannot have the posts sent via JetPack with the respective post image. Too bad.

    Hi there, @thobie,

I seem to understand that you’re all set for now, and you’ll be testing the subscription feature for a while, then you; ‘ll circle back to us if needed.

Is that correct? If that’s so we’ll be marking this thread as solved, for now, otherwise, we are happy to keep assisting you on this matter.
