• Ok, I contacted web host. They said yes I can put a php.ini file in public_html folder, and that my server is Apache/CGI,fastCGI.

    so I made an php.ini file in my public_html folder.

    I then “appended” as instructed, adding line:
    auto_prepend_file = ‘/home/username/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’

    Nothing changed.

    So continuing to follow instructions, I added following to .htaccess.

    SetEnv PHPRC /home/user/public_html/sitename/php.ini

    Website crashed with “internal server error.”

    What is “sitename” ????

    Spent 20 minutes on this, trying different things with SetEnv PHPRC for the php.ini file I put in root. Site just crashed. I’ve had just about enough of this.

    I would like to find the solution to this also. I performed the upgrade, downloaded the htaccess backup and now my backend is unaccessable. I ended up renaming the wordfence plugin directory and now I can access my backend. What do we need to go do correct this issue. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
