What, EXACTLY, does the page look like? Is it formatted like WP? Is it a generic 404? Does it look like a server error?

designedbydas.com looks good which is where the install is made ..
designbydas.com looks like the bluehostparked page
and when i try to login to the admin of any new site this comes up

    404 Error File Not Found

The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

update: so the multisite installation is working properly and im able to create sites.. so the issue that im having is in creating custom domains and domain mapping.. all my domains are from host gator and now theyre added on to bluehost hosting.. which was done before making the multisite
so im having trouble knowing where i went wrong with the plugin install or am the fact that i have already added my domains before the install to my hosting causing the issue

The problem is not Multsite, the problem is subdomains and domain mapping, you are correct. You like how I knew that just by you telling me what the 404 looked like? ??

so im having trouble knowing where i went wrong with the plugin install or am the fact that i have already added my domains before the install to my hosting causing the issue

    Neither.

The problme is WHERE you added your domains. They need to point to designedbydas.com but you have them pointing somewhere else.

Make sure you’re using PARKED domains: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/255

THANK YOU!!! it worked right away!! now does this mean that if i let other people make their own sites and use their own domain they will need their own hosting. and any idea why the password automatically becomes the same as my main domain and is there any way to change this ?!?!?

sorry for all the questions .. thank you so much !!!! this is all new to me .. but i have all the patience i need!!

now does this mean that if i let other people make their own sites and use their own domain they will need their own hosting?

Nope, they’ll just need to register the domains and point them to your IP address. Then you add them as an add-on domain just like you did with the others. (Or you could have them pay you to register, etc).

and any idea why the password automatically becomes the same as my main domain

Is it the same user like super admin? That password will be the same across all member sites. If you’re adding a new user in the network admin panel then it should send a randomly generated password to the users email address. It’s not doing that?
