• Hi,

I’m using the plugin to display twitter follow buttons on my page, using this shortcode:
    [twitter_follow screen_name=”TWITTERNAME”]

After some of the last updates, the shortcode stopped working in sidebar widgets (which worked before). It’s still working if I use the shortcode in pages and posts.

Are you using the Follow button widget or are you trying to use a shortcode in a text / HTML widget area?

Why not use the Follow button widget instead? Is there functionality missing from that widget you gain by using a shortcode?

Using shortcodes was a more elegant solution, because I have multiple twitter accounts that I want to display. And it worked before.

But now I’m using several follow button widgets and custom css to edit the margin, which works as well.

WordPress may have changed how it handles text/widget areas and shortcodes. The follow button shortcode in the plugin registers the shortcode at the plugins_loaded action since the plugin’s launch. WordPress had some shortcode parsing changes in 4.2.3 if you noticed a change in behavior after a WordPress version upgrade.
