Follow Blog Widget

There’s not one included like the WordPress.com blogs. I’m currently researching either building one, or using a prebuilt one.

So far, the closest prebuilt I’ve seen is subscribe2. It requires a feedburner account to work with, but essentially works the same way.

Any information from other people would be appreciated, although I seriously doubt many will respond; this question has been asked numerous times in the forums already.

what is a feedburner?
I downloaded the same plugin, I introduced the widget… but cannot get it working properly.

Besides, I also searched widely for the answer to Standib’s question in the net with no result…

My apologies, I should have updated the post. I installed the subscribe2 plugin and installed the widget into the sidebar. It doesn’t require Feedburner, and actually has some really nice features for tweaking the emails sent out for subscriptions and notifications.

All I did was adjust some of the styling in the CSS, and it looks *almost exactly like the built in subscribe widget in wordpress.com.

what issues are you having with the widget?

Well I simply did not get it right. After my last reply I tried with feedburner (I googled the term and learned about it) to which I subscribed. Now I have it in my blog and will see how it works. Do you definitively would suggest to change to subscribe2?

I use WPML (multilingual plug-in) and unfortunately I see that it does not deal with widget area… but this is another issue ?? (may be I open another forum)

From what I’ve found, it’s the closest thing to the built-in plugin out at the moment.
