• Hi,
i try to install a wordpress multisites network on my Synology home server.
everythings is ok, but i’m not happy and don’t understand the folders setup…
is it a wordpress bug ?

for me, it suppose to be ( to be more clear and have a better workflow ):

    wordpress\wp-content\uploads\website-name_1\
    wordpress\wp-content\uploads\website-name_2\
    wordpress\wp-content\uploads\website-name_3\

but in real, it’s something like that ( just impossible to work with a such folders setup, especially if you have 30 or 40 differents website, what a messy !!! ) :

    wordpress\wp-content\uploads\2020\05
    wordpress\wp-content\uploads\sites\2\2020\05

maybe i’m wrong with my wordpress installation, maybe it’s an issue with the htaccess ?
    any help appreciated !
    thanks !

  • That is designed to work from WordPress itself through the media/image system mostly but you’re welcome to do things manually as you wish.

It’s not very intuitive at first glance but allows the multisite to be engaged without clobbering the single site that may already have been populated and present for some time.

Most everything outside of media files is in the database in case you were wondering about content storage itself.
