Folder-like view

Hi, I have read the plugin documentation and I think it will satisfy our document management needs. What I would like to do is duplicate as close as possible the usual windows folder interface.
Is it possible to have a different user interface? If not, can I place a link in my site (say called intranet) that points to the root folder where the documents are stored?
