    Hi,

I am writing articles about different companies and often more than one artikle about same company. When it comes to focus keywords it is difficult not to use keywords more than one time. If I like to older articles the probability is high that the specific word are already used a couple of times.

I get a red flag in Yoast. How does that affect my seo work and my websites ranking?

    Hi @sussies

Using the same focus keywords across several articles on your website might cause issues as it could cause what is known as keyword cannibalization, where several articles on your website are competing for ranking on the same search term or query.

In order to resolve this, we would recommend performing the proper keyword research so you are able to draft a list of keyphrases that you can use as your preferred focus keyphrase and don’t have to reuse it on several articles. We have a guide here that details more about this – https://yoast.com/keyword-research-ultimate-guide/

    We hope this helps!

Thank you for you answers. I work with a “news paper” so I have to mention company names by their original name lik IKEA and so on. I can′t exclude company names in articles.

Do you have a suggestion how to work with that kind of content?

    =)

Your question is a bit outside the scope of the support we provide. Giving?SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.

At Yoast, we want to help people improve their site and to make SEO attainable for everyone. So we offer?Yoast Academy?courses which are included in our Yoast SEO Premium subscription, several great plugins, and a?comprehensive SEO blog.

We understand that not everyone has the interest or time to learn SEO.?Our main advice at this point?would be to check for a local SEO company and see if they can help out. If you are using a web development agency, you could ask them, as most agencies have at least a basic understanding of SEO as well – the good ones do.
