focus keywords and other SEO plugins

    We were previously using Rank Math, which became nagware and over complicated for our charity’s needs we have gone back to seoframework. Losing our focus keywords in the transfer, I wondered at their importance? Why do keywords in seo framework ( under the audit tab) not show up in other seo apps and vice versa. Earlier posts on site that were keywordered by seopressor, did not lose their keywords, but these are only there if I reactivate the now struggling seopressor, they weren’t deleted but also do not show in seoframework. What is the difference in all these apps and their recording and insertion of focus keywords?? Can anyone advise?

    Focus keywords are only for you to optimize the content. Neither your visitors nor search engines can see those.

    Our Focus extension uses an entirely different system than other SEO plugins to evaluate keywords. Primarily, we implemented a dictionary to evaluate the “subject” rather than just a single word. I’ll spare you the technical details, but this is why keywords cannot be migrated from other plugins.

    Keywords don’t make or break your site’s ranking; they’re only for the last bit of optimization when your site doesn’t operate in a niche. I explained that in some detail on the extension page: https://tsf.fyi/e/focus.
