Focus keywords

  • Hello all,

    this is a general question regarding the functionality of the Focus Keyword field in Yoast SEO plugin, to clear up sort of confusion.

    What I would like to know is: Is there any functionality behind entering a keyword in the Focus Keyword field in the edit page/post, or is it exclusively an analytical tool which gives you insights into page/post content? In other words, will entering of the Focus Keyword improve the SEO in any way, or does it simply offer feedback about my content.

    The Focus Keyword field serves as an analytical aid. It’s there to give you guidelines that help you optimize your posts around a particular Keyword.
    Even though entering the Focus Keyword by itself provides no “magical” SEO results, the keyword optimization tips it provides will definitely help improve your content and ultimately will provide SEO benefits.
