While I do appreciate the flyout menus making everything 1-click, I would still like to have some common menus open. Personally I like the posts, jetpack and dashboard open all the time as I move between these areas most. Now whilst I only have to *click* once to go from posts to dashboard, I do have to make 2 movements, one to the dashboard title, then wait for the flyout which is not long at all, but then move again to the option I want.

I used to be able to move and click onto my options in one move.

I can’t seem to see a way to ‘lock’ menus open?

    Many Thanks

There isn’t one. There’s a plugin that will lock ALL menus open, but I don’t know if you want that

I logged in specially to give feedback on this so…

Arrg! No! I agree 101% with the top poster here. Bring back the old menus! I hate this new flyout menu style.

As Amy says, now I have to make two mouse movements adn wait for the flyout to pop out, whereas before it it was click and go.

At least give us the option to use the old ones.

I have five WP blogs (at least, I’ve lost count) and after upgrading one (which was, unfortunately, my main one), I don’t wish to upgrade the others because of this.

Ipstenu: Thanks for your plugin tip. I will use that.

Otherwise… great. Although I think you’re needlessly duplicating information with the task bar. But I don’t mind that.

Please remember: If it ‘aint broke, don’t fix it!

You don’t have to upgrade, but remember any and all security patches applied to WordPress will be on the 3.3 branch. There will be no upgrades/fixes to older versions.

For those unaware, there was much discontent during beta:

As well, the said plugin, with the present release, it no longer holds ALL menus open, but just the ones you wish to open, similar to how it was in 3.2. The lesson: if it goes out of core, someone will probably write a plugin to remedy it.

    Hi,

I have to admit I did not know about the beta discontent. I’m not a power user, only run a handful of sites and tend to just trust the devs and install new versions when it says they are ready.

Very pleased to get my open menus back with the plugin, althought it is s shame a plugin is needed, I just hope it keeps working after updates ?? Thank You for the recommendation.

    Agree %1000 – terrible. Arrgh.

    ??

The plug-in Ipstenu mentioned is perfect:

    Works like a charm.
