    Hello,

Hotlink protection is ON on my site but still, other sites use i1.wp.com image URL to link. I want to stop this behavior could you tell me how can I stop images serving through i1.wp.com. Also, tell me is there any manual way to remove images from the photon cache or I need to contact everytime?

Thank you for contacting us about our image CDN, @youtechians!

If other sites are using our CDN’s cache to avoid your site’s hotlink protection, please deactivate our CDN. You can do so by logging into WP Admin, then navigating to: Jetpack → Settings → Performance → Speed up image load times (turn off).

Note that this will not remove images already cached by our CDN. If you’d like us to remove those, please send us direct links to each image. Thank you! ??

We’re unable to clear Photon cache on a domain level, only on a per-image basis.

    remove this one

I’ve purged that image file from our cache.

In terms of the concerns around cached images on our servers, I want to pause to provide a more in depth explanation of how this feature works within our system in hopes that it helps us get you what you need.

On our end, if you can give us all of the links to remove from the cache and keep Site Accelerator disabled, your images will no longer appear in our system. The only exception is if someone had saved an image URL with Site Accelerator domain OR a cached page has image URL with Site Accelerator domain prefix. If other websites are using that Site Accelerator URL, it may circumvent any cache clearing.

This also means that if you try to check to confirm if the images are removed from our system and you re-load the Site Accelerator specific URL (the one starting with i0, i1, i2), this will trigger a cache once more of the image to return. Don’t re-load those URLs once we’ve confirmed the image has been purged.

You might need to rename the file itself on your site – once the original image no longer exists our cache will also be gone for good.

also, I request you to add an option for users to do this without contacting.

I’m afraid that isn’t possible. The tools to do so are on our servers, which we wouldn’t give access to outside of our organization.

    I hope that clarifies things.

Still image is accessible through the link mentioned. Did i need to rename?

note: site accelerator is enabled but speedup image load time is disabled.

    Hello, there.

Yes, as Csonnek noted, you will need to rename the original file on your server or remove it in order for Jetpack’s Image CDN to not immediately pick it back up after we flush it from our cache.

Please let us know when this is done and confirm the image URLs and we will attempt to flush these again. Thanks!

ok, I have a question is there any way to stop others from hotlinking photon cached images?

If I Remove Jetpack Plugin from my site does it resolve as I didn’t want to change the images URL as it affects my site SEO.

    I’m waiting for your response

I’ve removed the images in that file from our cache. To prevent these from being cached again, you can simply disable the site accelerator feature entirely while leaving Jetpack connected.

    Hope that helps!

Renamed Images and disabled image optimization but enabled site accelerator does it also affects. (Recache?)

Hello, it appears that you still have Jetpack’s Image CDN active.

If you want to remove Jetpack’s Image CDN completely, you’ll want to disable “Speed up static file load times” as shown in this support document:

    https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/

You can leave the other site accelerator options toggled on, if you wish.

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
