I have the floating share buttons enabled. They look great on the desktop version of the site. However, I noticed an issue on the mobile version of my site (I use WPTouch Pro).

When viewing the site in portrait mode on my phone, the floating share buttons do not show (this is a good thing). However, when I switch it to landscape view, the floating share buttons show up (this is a bad thing).

Is there a way to configure the floating share buttons, so that they only show up on the desktop version of the site? The floating buttons block all of the text on the left side of the website, so it makes it difficult to read a mobile website in landscape view.

    Please advise. Thanks!

  • @webskilz – Thanks very much for reporting. We see this on our blog too. We’ll update that as soon as we can and let you know when it’s done!

I am having the same issue still a year later! What can I do.

    Hi @sabbagghmirna,

Thanks for letting us know! Currently, we have disabled Floated Share Buttons from appearing on mobile. Are you still seeing the Floated Share Buttons on your mobile site?

We are actively working on having the Floated Share Buttons for mobile again, which will be released sometime in the near future.

Let me know what you’re seeing on your end. ??

    Thanks,
    Mary Anne

I’m still getting the floating share buttons on mobile, and it’s covering up the mobile menu, making navigation pretty much impossible.

    The site is https://dobrador.com.

I have a screenshot, if that helps.

    Hi @mugwumpr,

We just recently fixed the issue with the Floated Share Buttons appearing on Android devices. Can you please clear your mobile browser’s cache and let me know what you get?

    Thanks,
    Mary Anne

    Hi Mary Anne,

I cleared the cache twice, but the floating share buttons are still showing up.

It’s a Samsung Galaxy III, if that helps any.

Just checked my Google Nexus 7 tablet, and they’re showing there, too. No cache to clear since I don’t visit the site from that device.

    Hi @mugwumpr,

Just spoke with my engineer and it appears that the Floated Share Buttons are only appearing for Samsung Galaxy III because of the larger screen size. We’re actively working on having it removed.

Also, the Floated Share Buttons were designed to appear on Android Tablets since the screen-size should not conflict with the content of your site.

We should come up with a resolution soon for the mobile version. Hang tight!

    Thanks,
    Mary Anne

I am seeing them with Google Chrome on my LG F6 and have had complaints lately from other mobile users that the share buttons are blocking the text. The ultimate solution would be to use the large floating buttons on desktop and the mini buttons on mobile.

    HI @laserjobs,

Thanks for letting us know which device you have! We’re actively working on disabling them for Android phones. I fix should be underway shortly. I’ll keep you posted. ??

    Thanks,
    Mary Anne
